WEST HAVEN, CT (New Haven Register) — The auction to determine the future of the former Lender's Bagels bakery never took place. Just one team of qualified investors showed up — and they ended up negotiating a deal to buy the property for an undisclosed figure that was higher than the $499,000 minimum, said officials with AuctionAdvisors, the New York company hired to sell the property at auction. The buyer was a New York investor who did not want to immediately be identified and did not yet know what the ultimate use of the property, more recently used by Gold Medal Bakery and later as a Gold Medal distribution center, might be, said AuctionAdvisors Managing Partner Joshua Olshin. The property has 300 feet of frontage along the Boston Post Road. It is directly across Route 1 from the former Chuck’s Steakhouse property.
